Geneva College’s human services major prepares college graduates to meet community needs, giving students a theoretical and practical framework for positions in a wide variety of social-service settings. Human development and behavior, human diversity, and social structures are focal topics of study. Social agencies and the delivery of social services are studied in the field, as well as in the classroom, all with an emphasis on the integration of Christian faith in service to others.
Geneva prepares students for gainful employment in business, nonprofit organizations, and government. The degree program also prepares students for graduate school. For human services professionals, the general career path is to work in social agencies. Career opportunities include, but are not limited to:

Students must earn a minimum of 60 credits prior to taking the 36 required credits in the major listed above.

*Math courses require two years of high school Algebra as a prerequisite to meet this requirement.
Transfer and other credits are accepted by Geneva Registrar. Students must obtain written approval through the Adult Degree Academic Advisor before taking any course from another institute intended to apply toward your degree.
