Geneva College Athletes of the week for the week of December 7-12, 2009:
Renee Rawding - Basketball
Renee Rawding has been selected as the female student-athlete of the week. In Geneva′s 88-49 victory over Penn State Greater Allegheny last week, Rawding became just the 12th female player In school history to reach the 1000 point plateau. Rawding posted ten points and four rebounds in the victory. On Saturday, Rawding scored 11 points in Geneva′s 60-55 loss at Bethany College. Rawding and her teammates take a 4-5 overall record into the Christmas break.
Rich Colick - Basketball
Rich Colick has been selected as the male student-athlete of the week. In Geneva′s only action of the week, Colick posted a team high 20 points and ten rebounds in a 76-64 loss to Bethany College. Colick was 6-9 from the field, including a pair of three-point field goals. He also accounted for two steals and three blocked shots in the loss. For the season, Colick leads the Golden Tornadoes with 18.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.
