Geneva College Athletes of the week for the week of October 25-30, 2010:
Brianna Mixter - Volleyball
Brianna Mixter has been selected as the female student-athlete of the week. Helping to lead the Golden Tornadoes to a perfect 3-0 record this week while also breaking the single season record for victories as Geneva finished the regular season with an overall record of 26-5. Playing the unsung hero role all season, Mixter has been Geneva′s defensive leader all season. This past week, she posted 70 digs in Geneva′s victories over Saint Vincent, Grove City and Westminster. She leads Geneva in that category and started the final week of the season listed in the top ten in the PAC in digs.
Gerard Muschette - Football
Gerard Muschette has been selected as the male student-athlete of the week for the third time this semester. Muschette broke the single game rushing record with 302 yards on 30 carries in Geneva′s 34-20 victory over Thiel on Saturday. Muschette also broke the career touchdown record with four TD′s in the game moving his record total to 44 in the last four years. With his 302 yards on the ground, Muschette moved to within 108 yards of Geneva′s all-time rushing mark with just one game left to play. Perhaps most impressively, 250 of his 302 yards came in the second half as the Golden Tornadoes exploded for all 34 points in the final two quarters.
