Geneva College Athletes of the week for the week of November 22-27, 2010:
Alyse Scarsella - Basketball
Alyse Scarsella has been selected as the female student-athlete of the week. Scarsella paced Geneva to a 53-50 victory over Fredonia State on Saturday with 15 points and 13 rebounds. It was her first double-double of the season and 15th of her career. Scarsella pulled down 12 rebounds in Geneva′s loss at Point Park last Tuesday and leads Geneva and is among the leaders in the PAC with nearly ten rebounds per game. Scarsella and the Golden Tornadoes are 3-2 on the season and above the .500 mark for the first time since early in the 2009 season.
Rich Colick - Basketball
Richard Colick has been selected as the male student-athlete of the week. Colick continued his torrid early season scoring pace with a pair of outstanding efforts against Baldwin-Wallace and LaRoche. The Golden Tornadoes defeated Baldwin-Wallace 74-68 behind Colick′s 13 point, nine rebound effort. On Saturday, Geneva came up short against LaRoche despite 26 points from Colick to go along with eight rebounds. Averaging close to 20 points per game, Colick is on pace to finish in the top ten on Geneva′s all-time scoring list.
