Heidi Mann– Women′s Soccer
Heidi Mann has been selected as the women′s student-athlete of the week. Mann ended a four game scoreless drought for the Women′s Soccer team Saturday as they upended Thiel 4-0. The long awaited goal came in the 41st minute when Mann powered a shot passed the Thiel goalkeeper. This goal was not only the first for Geneva in four games but was also Mann′s first of the season, and she did not stop there. She would go on to collect two more goals to complete a hat trick. To continue Presidents′ Athletic Conference play Geneva will travel to Crestview Hills, KY Wednesday to take on Thomas More at 4 p.m. before returning to Merriman Athletic Complex on Saturday to host W&J at 12 p.m. for Community Day.
Garrett Masters- Men′s Soccer
Garrett Masters has been selected as the men′s student-athlete of the week. Masters helped the Men′s Soccer team get back into the win column after a two game losing streak Saturday night when they defeated Thiel 1-0. Masters found the back of the net in the 8th minute and would remain the only Golden Tornado to score for the rest of the game. Masters is the lead goal scorer for Geneva with six tallies so far this season. Geneva will hit the road for Thomas More Wednesday for a 1 p.m. start before they come back to College Hill to welcome W&J on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. for Community Day.
