Bauman15.jpgALAN BAUMAN

The newest addition to the coaching staff, Alan Bauman joins the Golden Tornadoes as a full-time assistant coach. Bauman brings great depth and knowledge of the game with ten years of coaching experience along with his own successful career on the hardwood.

A Freeport high school graduate, Bauman first stepped on Geneva’s court as a Golden Tornado himself from 1999-2002. During his time at Geneva the GTs wrote themselves in the record book with an overall record of 21-13. Bauman then transferred to Penn State New Kensington campus where he graduated with a communications major in 2004.

In 2005 he started teaching Physical Education and Health at the Sewickley Academy until 2014. While teaching, Bauman was an assistant coach of the academy’s men’s basketball team. During his coaching stretch the Panthers went on to win a State Championship and two Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) Championships.

Alan and his wife Michelle reside in Sewickley with their four children; Isaiah (13), MaKenzie (10), Jackson (7), and Brody (6).

Jason McCowin returns for his ninth season on the bench as one of Geneva’s assistant in 2013-14. McCowin’s last coaching position was as the head boys basketball coach at New Brighton High School, where he spent five years leading the Lions’ program.

The 1993 Geneva graduate played for the Golden Tornadoes under Jerry Slocum from 1988-90. A two-year letter winner while at Geneva, McCowin will continue his work as a teacher in the New Brighton School District.

Prior to Geneva, McCowin played and attended Blackhawk High School. Currently, he and his wife Lisa reside in Economy Township.

Humphries15.jpgKEITH HUMPHRIES

Beginning his 15th season as a Geneva assistant, Keith Humphries has become a fixture on the Golden Tornadoes sideline. Previously an assistant on the football coaching staff, Humphries is certainly no stanger to College Hill.

A graduate of Aliquippa High School, Humphries played Division I football at Louisville University. Santarsiero added Humphries to his staff to improve guard play and that is exactly what has happened during the last 14 seasons.

Humphries and his wife Virta reside in New Brighton with their daughter, Seqeena.
