Ericka Shafer started at Geneva College in October 2011 as an assistant athletic trainer. Originally from East Canton, Ohio, Shafer earned her undergraduate degree from Marietta College and obtained her master’s degree from California University of Pennsylvania in 2012. In August of 2015, Shafer took over as the interim head athletic trainer. She likes athletic training because of all the interaction she has with the student-athletes in the process of evaluation, rehabilitation and return to play from an injury. She enjoys the opportunity to take care of others, specifically the Golden Tornadoes. Shafer currently resides in Beaver Falls, PA.
Brian Nelson started at Geneva College in November 2015, working as an athletic trainer. Originally from Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Nelson earned a bachelor of science in athletic training from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2010, and a master’s degree in exercise science from the University of Toledo in 2012. He has always enjoyed athletics and is fascinated by how the Lord designed the human body. He currently resides in Darlington, PA, with his wife Beth and 1-year-old daughter Kaylee.
Madison Presto came to Geneva College in August 2015 as an athletic training intern. Originally from Center, Pennsylvania, Presto completed her undergraduate degree in athletic training with a minor in exercise science from Waynesburg in 2014. As a college student, she played both golf and softball. She loves athletic training because of the atmosphere and the student-athletes.
Dr. Piper Kilpatrick, CAQ, ABFM, USMLE Team Physician

Dr. Kilpatrick is a primary care sports medicine specialist who enjoys treating patients with any sport related medical issue. He focuses primarily on musculoskeletal injuries, but treats a wide array of conditions from pulmonary to cardiology to dermatology and everything in between.
His goal is to return his patients to the highest level of athletics be it sport, dance, or job in the shortest amount of time. He also attempts to provide education on injury prevention in order to help his patients avoid his office if at all possible.
He performed his medical training at UPMC St. Margaret in Family Medicine and completed an accredited "sports medicine" fellowship at UPMC Shadyside, working as a team physician with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Pittsburgh Passion, Robert Morris University, and Mt. Lebanon High School. He applies this training to help his patients recover as quickly as possible.
Dr. John Lehman Team Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Lehman is a 2nd generation orthopedic surgeon whose emphasis is on treating patients with musculoskeletal problems and returning them to their prior level of function as quickly and efficiently as possible.
He performed his medical training at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA and completed a full-year accredited "sports medicine" fellowship in Kansas City, working with the Kansas City Chiefs professional football organization. During his sub-specialty fellowship, Dr. Lehman learned the newest and most advanced techniques in joint surgery and rehabilitation. He now uses this experience to help his patients recover from both operative and non-operative treatment for their particular injury.
