Geneva's men's and women's basketball teams enjoyed another doubleheader delight on Saturday with a pair of victories over Waynesburg University. While the men's team provided one of its best efforts of the season, the women continued to cruise with a 13-point victory of its own.

The men rebounded from a loss to Hiram last Wednesday where it allowed 113 points. On Saturday, the Golden Tornadoes held Waynesburg ten points under its average and were able to shoot 47% from the field to pick up a big road victory. Bryan Hill matched his career high with 31 points, the same number he scored last Saturday in a victory against Saint Vincent. Hill knocked down six three point field goals, including four treys in the first three minutes of the game. Greg McDivitt posted 19 points and nine rebounds, while Justin Nardi played his finest game of the season with 14 points and six assists. Geneva moved its record to 8-6 and will look forward to two more PAC match-ups this week.

In women's action, Geneva was far from perfect on the offensive side of the floor in its two victories this week. Despite the shooting problems, Geneva's defense continued to be stingy in allowing an average of just 42 points in its two victories. After holding Chatham to just 37 points on Wednesday, the Golden Tornadoes handed Waynesburg its 12th straight loss in a 60-47 victory. Renee Rawding scored 19 against Chatham and added 21 at Waynesburg on Saturday. Rawding was 16-18 from the foul line this week and was 4-6 from three-point range on Saturday night. Allyson Clarke continued her strong play with 19 rebounds against Chatham and a 14-point effort on Saturday. The Golden Tornadoes are off to their second best start in school history with a record of 12-1. Geneva will face its toughest test on Wednesday when it travels to 5th ranked and undefeated Thomas More College. On Saturday, the Golden Tornadoes will host Thiel College in the only remaining home game in the month of January.
