Geneva's Saturday fun ended abruptly with a pair of losses at Grove City. The Golden Tornadoes had swept three previous Saturday doubleheaders during the month of January, but this past week they got a dose of their own medicine.

Rivalry week started with a bang as both teams traveled to New Wilmington and beat that team up north. Ron Galbreath returned to his old stomping grounds for the first time since ending his career as Westminster's men's coach. Geneva's women posted an impressive 73-46 victory as Renee Rawding was 6-8 from three-point range and finished with a game high 27 points. Teammate Allyson Clarke scored 24 points in a supporting role. As effective as the offense was on Wednesday, it was nowhere to be found on Saturday. Geneva converted just five field goals in the second half of a 54-45 upset loss to Grove City. Clarke did score 19 points, but Geneva shot only 34% for the game and committed 23 turnovers. Geneva is still enjoying a tremendous season at 14-3.

In men's action, the Golden Tornadoes held off Westminster on Wednesday for a 67-62 victory. Greg McDivitt scored 20 points and added nine rebounds. Mike Ross played a strong supporting role with nine points, including a pair of second half three point field goals that sealed the victory. The victory over Westminster marked the 200th Geneva win for head coach Jeff Santarsiero. Three Geneva players finished Saturday's game with double figures, but it wasn't enough in a 67-60 loss to Grove City. McDivitt again led Geneva with 15 points, but the Golden Tornadoes were just 9-28 from three-point range and a disappointing 5-14 from the foul line. Geneva sits at 10-8 for the season with two more PAC games coming up this week.

Geneva opened its first-ever indoor track season with a meet at Baldwin-Wallace on Friday. Several highlights marked the season opener, including Luke Duriancik's work in the 500-meter race. He finished sixth overall and posted the fourth best time in school history. Andrew Foxenberg ran both the one-mile race and the 3000 meter event. He was just four seconds off from qualifying for the national meet in the 3000.

In women's action, Tiffany Bear finished fifth in the in the shot put and improved her distance by three feet from this time last year.

While the success continues on the court and on the field, this week the Presidents' Athletic Conference announced its athletic honor role for the fall and Geneva was more than well represented. The Golden Tornadoes had 47 student-athletes complete the fall semester with a 3.5 GPA or higher. Only one PAC school posted a higher number than Geneva for this past fall. Congratulations to all the student-athletes who were recognized on the PAC honor role.
