Geneva's spring athletic season is closing fast, but the past week featured some impressive performances on the track and on the field. Geneva's track team competed at the PAC championships with several team members accomplishing personal bests, including a heartfelt performance from Julie Everett in the 800 meter race. In baseball, Geneva put an end to its losing streak with a come-from-behind victory over Waynesburg on Saturday. Geneva's softball team won three of four last week, including a PAC doubleheader sweep over Waynesburg.

In track and field, Geneva's athletes competed against the best the PAC had to offer on Saturday. In women's action, Tiffany Bear posted three top ten finishes in the javelin, long jump and high jump. Kelsey Anderson was third in the javelin preliminaries and sixth in the 100 meter hurdles. The shining star of the day went to Julie Everett, who posted a personal best in the 800 meter race with a time of 2:42.05. Everett was on pace to run ten seconds faster before she fell just moments before crossing the finish line. Running at a pace faster than she had ever run, Everett literally ran herself into the ground, but showed enough determination to crawl across the finish line. In the words of head coach Bret Otte, "That effort sums up the effort from our entire team this year."

In baseball, Geneva rallied for an 8-6 victory over Waynesburg University to take game two of its doubleheader. Geneva dropped the first game 12-7. Justin Montgomery pitched three scoreless innings of relief to pick up his first victory of the season. Geneva's offense was led by a four-hit performance from Tadd Eyster and a solo home run off the bat of Joel Gatti. Geneva sits at 14-14 for the season with six games remaining on the regular season schedule.

Geneva's softball team split a doubleheader with Point Park on Monday before taking a pair from Waynesburg. In four games this week, senior outfielder Jackie Anthony was 11-15 (.733) with nine stolen bases. Ashley Archer and Rebekah Wahl combined to allow just nine hits in the doubleheader victory over Waynesburg. Wahl and Archer each have 12 pitching victories on the season. Geneva's softball team is 25-13 with one week remaining on the schedule.
