Senior night for the men's and women's soccer teams resulted in mixed results on Saturday night. After a thrilling victory by the women, the men's team came up just short in the first match played in the newly renovated Reeves Field. Geneva's football team took care of business in Latrobe and the volleyball team experienced some mixed results of its own last week.

Mark Zurbrick, Sam McCracken, Coert Voorhees and Jonah Creasy played their final home match of their careers and they did so on the turf of Reeves Field. Despite the excitement of senior night, Geneva just could not generate any goals and dropped a 1-0 decision to Thomas More. Earlier in the week, Geneva did manage to find its offense with a pair of goals each from Josh Mann and Bruce Fox in a 4-2 victory at Waynesburg. Geneva ended the week with an overall record of 11-5 and will close out the regular season with a pair of PAC road matches.

Senior night for the women's soccer team turned out a bit differently as Melissa Brooks put an exclamation point on a magical night. The Golden Tornadoes got a goal from Brooks with just five minutes remaining in regulation time to grab a 1-0 victory away from Thomas More. Along with Brooks, Amanda Caler, Kelsey Anderson and Jamie Williams walked off their home field for the final time with a victory. Geneva has lost just one match in the last 11 outings and improved to 7-3-5 on the season. One of the main reasons for the success has been the play of sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Londino. She has three consecutive shut-outs and tied the single season record with her ninth shut-out on Saturday. She turned away 21 shots in Geneva's 0-0 double overtime tie with Waynesburg earlier in the week and then stopped all 12 shots against her in the win over Thomas More.

Geneva's football team needed a win and it got exactly what the doctor ordered on Saturday with a convincing 42-19 decision over Saint Vincent. Sophomore quarterback David Girardi threw for 204 yards and a pair of touchdowns to pace the offense. On the ground, Matt Barge surpassed the 100 yard mark for the first time in his brief Geneva career. While the offense accounted for four touchdowns, the defense did its fair share with a couple scores of its own. Aaron Tommelleo returned a fumble 80 yards for a score and Brian Wilson returned to the line-up and scored on a seven yard interception return. Geneva moved to 2-5 on the season and will travel to Bethany next Saturday.

Geneva's cross country team enjoyed a weekend off as they continue to prepare for the PAC championships this coming weekend at Thomas More College.

In volleyball action, Geneva's women split four PAC matches last week. The week started promising with a pair of wins over Waynesburg and Thiel. On Friday and Saturday, the Golden Tornadoes dropped decisions to Westminster and Thomas More. Thomas More became the first PAC team to beat Geneva twice this season. The Golden Tornadoes did surpass the 20 win plateau for the first time in three years.
