Geneva's fall athletic season is quickly coming to a close but not before a few of Geneva's teams will be heading to post-season. Both soccer programs ended their regular seasons on Saturday but will be awaiting play in the NCCAA eastern regional tournament later this month. The women's cross country team qualified for the NCCAA national meet on Saturday and a pair of runners on the men's team will also be headed to the national meet.

Meanwhile, Geneva's football team won for the second straight week and the volleyball team ended its impressive season with 22 victories.

Geneva's volleyball team ended the season by splitting a pair of matches on Saturday. After cruising to a 3-0 win against Chatham, the Golden Tornadoes dropped a 3-1 decision to Saint Vincent. Geneva ended its season with a mark of 22-10, which marked the first 20+ win season in four years. Earlier in the week, Adriane Blake and Brandi Snavely were each first team selections to the NCCAA All-East region team. Honorable mention selections included Michelle Zimmovan and Rachel Kuegler.

Geneva's men's soccer team gave up a season high four goals in a 4-1 loss to Grove City on Saturday. The Golden Tornadoes got a goal from Caleb Musselman to start the match, but watched the Wolverines score four unanswered. Earlier in the week, Geneva defeated Thiel 3-0 on goals from Musselman, Paul Liotta and Bruce Fox. David Callahan registered his third shut-out of the season. The Golden Tornadoes ended their regular season with a record of 12-6 and will now await the NCCAA Eastern Regional tournament later this month.

The women's soccer team also ended its regular season with a loss at Grove City. A goal just over a minute into the match held up in a 1-0 loss to the Wolverines. It was the first goal that Geneva and sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Londino had allowed in five matches. Londino broke the school record on Wednesday with her 10th shut-out of the season in a 3-0 victory at Thiel. Goals by Kelsey Anderson, Amanda Caler and the first collegiate tally from Rebecca Bigenho paced the offense. Geneva ended its regular season with a mark of 8-4-3 and will also be awaiting the NCCAA regional tournament in a couple weeks.

Geneva's cross country teams competed in the PAC championships on Saturday just north of Cincinnati. While both Josh Falk and Josh Gunnett performed well it was only good enough to secure a 6th place PAC finish. Both Falk and Gunnett will be running at the NCCAA national meet having qualified earlier in the season. The women's team stole the spotlight with a fourth place overall finish and qualifying as a team for the NCCAA nationals. Rebecca VanRegenmorter (6th) and Nicole Okerlund (11th) were the top two finishers as Geneva needed a fifth place finish and did itself one spot better. The Golden Tornadoes women will be competing at Cedarville University on November 15.

In what proved to be the most complete effort of the season, Geneva's football team cruised past Bethany on Saturday by the score of 38-23. After falling behind early, the offense starting clicking on all cylinders as the Golden Tornadoes dominated Bethany at the line of scrimmage. Geneva's running game was potent with a total of 339 rushing yards in the victory. Matt Barge (143 yds) and Gerard Muschette (139 yards) each posted season highs as Barge also found the end zone twice. David Girardi threw a pair of touchdown passes to Brian Dvorsak as Geneva has put together its first back to back victories of the season. The Golden Tornadoes are sitting at 3-5 and are anticipating the arrival of the new PAC champions Thomas More to Reeves Field on Saturday.
