Our men's basketball team dropped a pair of hotly contested games this past week by a combined seven points. The women's basketball team came away victorious in its only game of the week.

In men's action, Geneva dropped a 73-70 decision at LaRoche last Tuesday night after watching a second half lead disappear. Rich Colick continued his incredible start with 25 points and 14 rebounds. Bryan Hill found his shooting touch with three three-point field goals. Geneva took another lead into halftime on Saturday against Hiram but once again saw the Terriers rally for an 88-84 victory. Colick led the offense again with 22 points as Geneva featured four players with double digit scoring totals. The Golden Tornadoes have dropped three straight games and fell to 1-3 as they get set to open PAC play this week with a pair of road games.

Geneva's women played just one game last week and came away with a 78-75 victory against Penn State Beaver. The Golden Tornadoes have started the season with an impressive 3-1 record. On Tuesday night, Michawn Rich led the charge with 20 points and 17 rebounds. She got significant help from Valerie Hamilton who added 17 points and eight rebounds. Other double digit scoring came from Rachel Barry with 15 points and Renee Rawding with ten. Geneva was 30-37 from the foul line including a perfect 8-8 from both Rawding and Barry. The women's team will also open conference play this week at Grove City and W & J.
