It was one of those years for the menâ??s basketball program. That special season came to an end on Saturday in very impressive fashion. The Golden Tornadoes represented Geneva quite well on the national stage with a 2-1 record including a win against NCAA Division II Palm Beach Atlantic in the 5th place game. Rich Colick scored 30 and Bryan Hill knocked in five three-point field goals in the final game to lead the way. Both Colick and Hill were named to the national tournament team. The Golden Tornadoes finished the season with a record of 18-12 for the most wins in a season since 2004-05.

In other action, the Geneva College baseball team won four of five games this week moving to 7-4 on the season. The Golden Tornadoes took two of three from Penn State Beaver before sweeping a doubleheader against Baptist Bible on Saturday. The offensive combination of Adam Scheiderer and Jon Jurinko led an impressive attack. The duo combined for 19 hits in five games and 18 RBIâ??s along with four home runs. Phil Shallenberger also enjoyed an impressive week and has already scored 19 runs in 11 games on the season. On the mound, Mike Suluva won his third game of the season without a loss with Tad Forsythe picking up his first victory of the year on Friday.
