The men's basketball post-season run came to an end officially ending the winter sports season at Geneva College. While one season was ending, a new season is now upon us. The baseball and softball teams open their seasons this week in Florida as the spring athletic seasons open up. The Geneva men's basketball team ended an exciting season last week with an overall record of 18-9. The Golden Tornadoes saw their post-season run through the NCCAA stop abruptly with a 72-59 loss to Roberts Wesleyan in Rochester, NY. Despite the loss, seniors Richard Colick and Bryan Hill ended their careers with another solid performance. The duo combined for 38 points in the loss as each ended their respective careers as a part of the Geneva College 1000 point club. The Geneva baseball team will be looking to rebound from a 16-20 record in 2010 while the softball team also kicks off the season after a 23-17 record a year ago. While the softball team will be playing its entire schedule in Kissimmee, the baseball team plays its first three games in Lakeland before heading to Clearwater for the final eight games of the trip. Both teams open their northern schedule at home on March 19. The baseball team will host Mt. Aloysius while the softball team will host Hiram College. Following is the athletic schedule for the upcoming week:
