The Geneva College basketball teams are entering their final week of the regular season. The womenâ??s team will close out the slate with a pair of PAC match-ups that includes a home finale against rival Westminster on Saturday night. The menâ??s team begins a busy week tonight with a non-conference game against Penn State Beaver before facing W & J and Westminster later in the week in games that will determine their play-off seeding for the PAC tournament next week. Meanwhile, the indoor track and field team finished its regular season with a strong showing on Saturday against several PAC foes. Five more student-athletes qualified for the NCCAA national meet bringing Genevaâ??s total to 11 men and women that will be competing for Geneva on the national stage this Saturday at Cedarville.

The menâ??s basketball team dropped a pair of PAC games last week to Thiel and Saint Vincent, two of the conferenceâ??s top clubs. The Golden Tornadoes led most of the night against the Tomcats but couldnâ??t close the deal in the second half as Geneva suffered a 78-75 loss despite another double-double from Matt Lorello with 20 points and ten rebounds. Lorello scored 16 points in a 76-56 loss to Saint Vincent on Saturday night. Geneva sits with a 5-17 overall record and a 4-10 mark in league play. Currently tied with Westminster for the sixth spot in the PAC standings, Geneva will host the Titans on Saturday night in a game that could ultimately decide the sixth seed for next weekâ??s PAC tournament.

In womenâ??s action, Geneva dropped games to Thiel and Saint Vincent and have now matched its season long losing streak of ten straight. The Golden Tornadoes could not generate enough offense in losses to Thiel and Saint Vincent. Beth DeLuca led Geneva with 13 points in the loss to Thiel while freshman Chelsea Kauffman scored 17 points on Saturday at Saint Vincent. Geneva will close out the regular season with games at Washington & Jefferson and home against Westminster in the season finale. Beth DeLuca and Rachel Rouan will be honored as Genevaâ??s senior class on Saturday night. Geneva has a 3-20 overall record and a mark of 2-14 in conference play heading into the final week of the season.

Genevaâ??s indoor track and field team ended its regular season with a solid effort at the PAC meet at West Virginia University over the weekend.
