January Events You Don’t Want to Miss

Who says winter in Beaver Falls has to be depressing? Here are some great Geneva College events that will get you thinking, laughing, singing and enjoying your January and your return for the spring semester.

A Moment in Pompeii On Ice – Friday, January 13, 6:30pm-10pm, Johnston Gym

Four bands rock Johnston Gym on Friday Night.  Hear an eclectic mix of genres from electronica to metal with Wagon Wheel, Glasnost, Until We Have Faces, and A Moment In Pompeii!

Night of the Arts in Honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr – Monday, January 16 7-9:30 p.m., Skye Lounge

The 6th Annual Night of the Arts in Honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will be celebrated on Monday, January 16 in Skye Lounge. There’s a dessert reception beginning at 7 p.m. (yum!) and the formal program kicks off at 7:30 p.m.

The Center for Student Engagement (CSE) hosts the evening, which will feature a variety of artistic performances by Geneva students and community members. Here are the Geneva students who will share their gifts with us:

  • Kamera Dorsey (‘18) will sing
  • Michelle Cantrall (‘17) will provide an oral reflection on her experience on the Civil Rights Bus Tour
  • Tamika McNeil (‘20) will perform spoken word

No RSVP needed – just show up.

Friday Night Live – Friday, January 20, 7-9 p.m., John White Chapel

Friday Night Live is a one-night sketch comedy show, written and produced by Geneva students. Watch the funniest Geneva students put on skits and make fools of themselves. Who knows, you might get to say you saw the next Andy Samberg do a show before he was famous.

Student Appreciation Night – Saturday, January 28, during & after basketball games in Metheny Fieldhouse

Want to feel appreciated? On Student Appreciation Night you will experience a night of games and activities during and after the Golden Tornadoes basketball game. Sports and fun will make your late January weekend a memorable one.

The Geneva Center for Student Engagement (CSE) coordinates over 200 activities a year for Geneva students. If you want to get involved, follow on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/gcspo/) or get more information about coming to Geneva as a student admissions@geneva.edu or 800-847-8255.
