Why Should You Earn a MBA Degree?

MBA – three small letters that are chock full of opportunity.  If you are trying to decide whether or not to further your education, let me shed some light on the decision making process.  Graduates with Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degrees are in high demand.  With a MBA degree, innumerable job opportunities open up providing comfortable salaries and opportunity for significant growth.  So, what kind of job positions can you hold with a MBA degree?  Here are just five of the numerous options available:

  1. Medical and Health Services Manager / Director

Keeping nursing homes, hospitals, and other health care center running smoothly and efficiently, these managers ensure that companies adhere to governmental reforms, rules, and regulation for health care delivery.  In addition, they oversee the work of doctors, clerical workers, and technicians.

  1. Financial Manager / Director

These individuals oversee the transaction and financial activities of the company.  Overseeing investment, cash management, financial procedures, and the budgeting process, financial managers aid companies in meeting their fiscal objectives.  The activities they are involved in range from raising capital, handling mergers and acquisitions, to assessing global financial transactions.

  1. Marketing Manager / Director

Sales and profit are the goal.  Marketing Managers and Directors expand into new markets and acquire new costumers.  They not only develop pricing strategies but they also create advertisements, manage budgets, research trends, identify opportunities, estimate demands, and sustain a company’s competitive advantage.

  1. Human Resources Manager / Director

The job of a HR Manager or Director ranges from hiring and recruiting to handling benefits and compensations.  They can train employees, provide job analyses, and serve as mediators between employers and employees.

  1. Management Consultant

If you are adept at solving problems, this may be the path for you.  Management Consultants, help solve problems, improving a company’s performance, maximizing profits, increasing efficiency, and controlling costs.  They work toward the success of a company and ensure that it remains competitive as well as relevant.

These five vocations are only a few of the innumerable positions available to those with a MBA degree.  Some other career opportunities include but are not limited to:

  • Logistician
  • Fundraiser
  • Sales Manager
  • Investment Fund Manager
  • Investment Banker
  • Information Technology (IT) Director
  • Computer and Information Systems Manager
  • Chief Technology Advisor
  • Information Security Analyst

With an MBA, securing positions in any one of these fields becomes instantly easier and more attainable.  Frequently, employers look for graduates with MBA degrees over undergraduates with only bachelor’s degrees for professional positions.  So, if you are at a crossroads, take my advice and don’t give up; keep going.  You will see the benefits and rewards from your faithful work in the end.
