5 More Off-Campus Things to Do at Geneva College

Last month we gave our first list of five off-campus things to do at Geneva College. In the spirit of the season, we're making a list of Five More Off-Campus Things To Do at Geneva College. These ones are strictly for fun. Keep these special locations in mind and give them a try when you can... so worth it.

  1. BFCAT

The local Beaver Falls Coffee and Tea shop, pronounced BiF-CAT, located right across from the college on Route 18, is one hangout spot that all Geneva students have visited. This family-owned business has the best brewed coffee in the area and is always welcoming to the sleep-deprived student in need of an espresso and free Wi-Fi.

  1. Oram’s Donuts

One of the many great spots to visit and even to work is Oram’s Donut Shop. Many of the alumni, visiting Geneva College, will make sure their second stop of the day is Oram’s donuts. Their signature cinnamon swirl donut (pictured above) is one that cannot be passed up. This small donut shop is one of the many things that make living in Beaver Falls just that much more special.

  1. Beaver County Farmers Market

During the fall and spring semesters, the Beaver County Farmers Market is one of the best places to go. If there was ever a way to keep off unwanted weight or just to feel more energized throughout the day, this is it. Meeting the people who grow the fresh produce and work day in and day out just so they can sell the fruit of all their hard labor is a beautiful experience. Also, it is always good to have fresh food options while in the dorms.

  1. Buttermilk Falls

One of the little-known attractions is Buttermilk Falls. At Geneva, many of the college students have visited these falls and often like to cool off by jumping into the falls on those hot, August days. The short hike to the falls makes for a great trip with friends or visiting family. It breaks up the day and refreshes the soul.

  1. Brady’s Run Parks and Recreation

One of the best places to go outside of campus is Brady’s Run. Fall, winter, or spring, Brady’s Run always has something to do for the college student. Whether laying out on the beach front, hiking in the woods, ice skating in the arena, or going to the maple festival, it is a great place to visit and explore.

Going to Geneva College is great, and the events on campus are always fun. Yet, it is also wonderful to have options outside of campus life to be able to get involved with and to explore.
