Randy Nutter

Dr. James Randall Nutter went to be with his Lord on Friday, December 23, 2011. This dedicated teacher and devoted father will be greatly missed by both his family and by students around the world.

A 16-year member of Geneva College′s business faculty, Dr. Nutter was the chairman of the Department of Business, Accounting and Finance. He was also named director of graduate business studies when Geneva introduced its MBA program in 1999. Dr. Nutter received Emeritus status upon his retirement in 2008.

He received his bachelor′s and master′s degrees in economics from Northern Illinois University, and began his business career in human resource management. In 1981, he was called to Christian higher education and served as a professor at Liberty University for 11 years. He went on to earn two doctoral degrees in business administration at Nova Southeastern University.

Dr. Nutter came to Geneva in 1992. In 1999, he travelled to China through the Pacific Institute for Business Management (PIBMA) to teach human resources and marketing for a summer MBA program. For the past several years, he was an adjunct professor at Southeast University of Nanjing, China.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Marilyn Nutter; his three daughters and their spouses: Paul and Heather (Nutter ′96) Smith of Lewiston, ID, Jonathan and Susan (Nutter ′01) Pacella of Coatesville, PA and Katherine Nutter ′03 of Huntsville, NC; grandchildren Elliott, Quinn, Levi and Addy; his mother, Mary Nutter of Nolanville, TX; his brother Jack of Albuquerque, NM; and other extended family.
