Why I like teaching at Geneva

I love teaching at Geneva. I am happy to be part of her mission to create servant leaders in Christ’s kingdom. I am grateful for the standards Geneva upholds in a hostile culture. Also, as a professor in the Adult Online Program, I am privileged to be helping students who did not get the opportunity to go to college at the time most students do, but who are now eager to learn, to get their degrees, and to progress in their careers.

Career Focus

For twenty-eight years, I focused on homeschooling my eight children, taught high school literature and writing classes to local homeschoolers, and wrote dozens of articles for national homeschooling magazines. Teaching year after year kept my knowledge of British and American Literature proficient. After our youngest son graduated, I took two years off. I began to feel as though I was not being useful enough in Christ’s kingdom and sought an online teaching position. Geneva was my first choice for where I wanted to work. In God’s good timing, there was an opening, and I was hired.
