Students are required to attend 11 services each semester.
Students who exceed the four-Chapel absence allowance required per semester can forego a penalty by attending a meeting on Reading Day and completing, on time and satisfactorily, the reflection paper assignment described at that meeting. See details below. If students missing more Chapels than allowed do not attend this meeting and/or do not complete the assignments as stipulated, a $50.00 fine, per Chapel requirement not met, will be added to their account at the end of the semester.
Assignment Details: In addition to attending the group meeting, students will be required to: (a) listen to the Chapel talk(s) and (b) write an acceptable two-page double spaced reflection paper for each Chapel they have missed.
All Chapel attendance questions must be submitted within four weeks after the Chapel in question.
If students lose their ID card, they may request a temporary ID card from the Residence Life office, located on the upper level of the Student Center. The temporary ID card must be obtained prior to the day of Chapel. Students seeking to receive Chapel credit with a temporary ID card must present that card at the information desk in the lobby of Metheny Fieldhouse as they exit Chapel. The temporary ID card is good for seven days and can be renewed one time.
