BEAVER FALLS, Pa.- Winners of the Henry Mancini Musical Theatre Awards for the 2004-2005 season were announced at a ceremony Wed. evening at Geneva College′s Metheny Fieldhouse. Within each category, recipients are named in random order.
Outstanding male actor in a leading role:

Five participants were presented Scholarships:
Geneva College Arts Scholarship, $1,000 each for students planning to pursue majors in the fine or performing arts: to George Bostanic (Beaver County Christian School) and Jennifer Hilton (Hopewell High School).
Henry Mancini Arts Scholarship, $1,000 for a student planning to pursue a major in the fine or performing arts at a college of his or her choice: divided between Ryan Carrol (Quigley Catholic High School; to attend Seton Hill University) and Deanna Repic (Beaver County Christian School; to attend Huntington University).
The Caitlin Clark Scholarship, for an underclassman to study for one year at the Richard E. Rauh Conservatory for Musical Theatre. This scholarship is the gift of Ken Gargaro, founding director of Pittsburgh Musical Theatre.
In addition, the three schools that were acknowledged for "Outstanding Dance Performance" received the Louise School of Dance/Studio Baden Dance Performance Award, $350 each to support the dance program at the schools.
Guest presenters for the awards ceremony were Chris Mancini, representing the Mancini family; Etta Cox, noted jazz singer; state representative Frank LaGrotta; Jim Cunningham, senior executive producer at WQED; Ken Gargaro of Pittsburgh Musical Theatre; Christ Masi of Union Area School District in Lawrence County; Carla Bianco, director of performing arts instruction at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center; John Dessler, of the Outlet for Creativity; and Harvey Johnson, director of theatre arts at Geneva College. Master of Ceremonies was Jon Burnett of KDKA-TV.
Participating musicals are judged by an independent panel of six, all specialists in music, dance, or theatre arts, and drawn from the three counties involved.
The "Henry" awards are presented annually for musical theatre productions in high schools in Beaver, Butler, and Lawrence counties. This is the eleventh year for the awards, which are sponsored by Geneva College.
