BEAVER FALLS, Pa.- Geneva will host a dessert reception to unveil the Beyond the Bend fund-raising project Friday, Oct. 7, at 7:30 p.m. The event will be held under a tent on the corner of 31st Street and College Avenue.

The reception will provide guests from the community and the college with a first-hand preview of an enhanced College Hill once Route 18 is relocated by PennDOT. Geneva will showcase conceptual drawings that depict the improvements planned for the campus. A brief program at 8 p.m. will include remarks from Dr. Kenneth A. Smith, president of Geneva, Samuel Siple, vice president of institutional advancement at Geneva, and State Rep. Mike Veon.

Geneva′s project, Beyond the Bend - Making the Path Straight, is planned to raise the necessary finances to create a new entrance to the campus, renovate Reeves Stadium, and build a pedestrian mall. The project′s goal is to raise $5.7 million by Dec. 2007. PennDOT is scheduled to begin the relocation of State Route 18 in the fall of 2006.

Route 18 traffic will be re-routed to 30th Street Friday, Oct. 7, from 4:30 -10 p.m. for the event.
