Latrobe, PA - It turned out to be a golden day on the cross country course at St. Vincent College for both the men′s and women′s teams from Geneva College. A pair of first place overall finishes were the results for the Golden Tornadoes. Competing against 12 other schools, Geneva′s men finished with 54 points, which was eight points better than second place Davis & Elkins. Meanwhile, the women snuck past second place St. Vincent by five points by the count of 49-54.

In the men′s race, Andrew Foxenberg continued to pace his team. Foxenberg finished in second place with a time of 28:00, which was just five seconds behind national qualifier Jessie Bender from Point Park University. On the women′s side, Dee Koutsourais finished second overall with a time of 20:04 on the 5K course. After taking a week off for rest, Koutsourais came back in prime fashion and finished just 11 seconds behind Tess Jones from St. Vincent College.

Other top runners on the men′s side included John Perkins, who finished in sixth place with a time of 28:53. Meanwhile, Phil Falk was 8th (29:00) and Josh Falk came in 15th place (29:40).

For Geneva′s women, who came in ranked #27 in the nation, Beth Bartolomeo was fourth overall in a time of 20:10. Rebecca VanRegenmorter also reached the top ten in eighth place at 20:35. Susan Fletcher (14th) and Marsha Miller (23rd) also turned in top performances.

Geneva will be back in action in two weeks when they host its only home meet of the season on October 7th at Fisher′s of Boys Camp in Darlington, PA.
