Grove City, PA - First year head coach Todd Beall addressed his team on Saturday after its 2-0 loss to Grove City College. Beall expressed his pleasure with how his team performed and how it continues to improve with each game. Despite the slow improvement, the Golden Tornadoes are still struggling to find offense and were shut-out for the fourth time in their first five matches of 2006. With just one goal on the season, the Golden Tornadoes fell to 0-4-1 overall.

A direct kick goal from the Wolverines in the fifth minute took some of the wind out of Geneva′s sails early and the Golden Tornadoes began an up hill battle that would continue throughout the rest of the match. Playing Grove City evenly, and in some cases outplaying the Wolverines, Geneva could not find the equalizing goal despite several quality chances.

The game remained a one-goal affair until Grove City was able to extend its lead with a tally in the 78th minute of play.

Geneva and Grove City, who have battled in just about every sport for over 100 years, will rekindle its long-time rivalry as competitors in the Presidents′ Athletic Conference when Geneva makes the switch to Division III next season.

The Golden Tornadoes have undoubtedly struggled to find the net early in the 2006 campaign, but they are yet to play on home soil. Geneva will finally get that opportunity when they welcome LaRoche College to Merriman Athletic Complex for the home opener next Wednesday night.
