GT′s Fall at Home Against Notre Dame
Beaver Falls, PA - Geneva′s women′s volleyball team lost at home for the second time in as many nights. However, Friday night′s 3-1 loss to Notre Dame College stung a bit more because it was a match within the AMC North. Geneva dropped to 7-10 overall, including a 3-3 conference mark. Meanwhile, Notre Dame improved to 8-9, including a perfect 4-0 record within the conference.
Marisa Barickman and Megan Summers combined for 30 kills, including 18 from Barickman. Those two also combined for eight blocks, with Summers leading the way with six of her own.
Caryn Azure again was solid at the setter position with 44 assists, while senior Allison Seldomridge chipped in with 20 digs.
Geneva seemed to have all the momentum after it held on for a 31-29 victory in game one of the best of five match. However, the Golden Tornadoes dropped games two, three and four by a combined 28 points.
Geneva will complete its three game home stand in as many nights when it hosts Ursuline College at Metheny Fieldhouse on Saturday night.
