Geneva Remains Perfect in Conference

Pepper Pike, OH - Geneva′s women′s soccer team won for the second time in as many conference games this season with a 3-0 victory over Ursuline College. The Golden Tornadoes moved to 4-3 overall, including a 2-0 record in the AMC North.

An early start proved to be the difference for the Golden Tornadoes after scoring a pair of goals in the first three minutes. Jamie Williams scored a minute and a half into the game to get the Golden Tornadoes off and running. Just one minute later, Melissa Brooks got her first goal of the season after receiving a pass from Jenna Witkowski.

Geneva maintained its two goal lead until late in the second half when Kelsey Anderson got some insurance with her fourth goal of the season.

Amber Weaver collected her second shut-out of the season with five saves. Weaver dropped her goals against average to 1.13 for the season. Meanwhile, Geneva took a total of 11 shots and completely controlled the pace of the game from start to finish.

The Golden Tornadoes will return home to host Seton Hill University on Tuesday night.
