Trick or Treat Comes Early for Henretty and Geneva

Beaver Falls, PA - Halloween is still a week away, but junior forward Ryan Henretty got in the mood with a bit of a trick or treat of his own. In fact, Henretty registered his first career hat trick in helping Geneva get past Pitt-Greensburg 5-0. The victory improved Geneva′s overall record to 3-10-3, while the Bobcats fell to 6-11 on the season.

It was the Henretty and McCracken show for the Golden Tornadoes as those two players combined for all five of Geneva′s goals. Henretty opened the scoring in the second minute of the game with his second goal of the season. McCracken, who was held scoreless in the first 11 Geneva games this season, struck for a pair of goals giving him six tallies in the last five games of the season. Henretty scored again before halftime to give Geneva a commanding 4-0 lead after 45 minutes. It was Henretty completing the hat trick with the final goal of the night in the 58th minute.

Geneva dominated play by out shooting UPG 21-3. Sam McCracken was forced to make just two saves in picking up his third shut-out of the season.

Geneva will play its most important game of the season in the home finale on Saturday night against Daemen. A Geneva victory, paired with a Roberts Wesleyan win over Point Park, will pole vault the Golden Tornadoes right into the AMC post-season.

The Golden Tornadoes will have just a road game at Malone next Tuesday to complete the regular season.
