Beaver Falls, PA – Geneva′s women′s basketball team won for the sixth straight time and did so without much of a fight. The Golden Tornadoes allowed just four second half points and held Franciscan to the second lowest point total in school history in a 93-17 victory. The win improved Geneva′s overall record to 17-3, which includes a 9-1 record in the AMC North.

Geneva led 13-7 six minutes into the contest when it went on a 29-0 run in the next seven minutes to extend its lead to 42-7 and would never look back. After leading 47-13 at halftime, Geneva out scored the Barons 46-4 in the second half, and Franciscan was just 2-22 from the field in the final 20 minutes. The Golden Tornadoes also forced 33 turnovers to help in the winning cause.

Every player on Geneva′s roster scored, including a team best 14 points from Allyson Clark. Other double figure scoring efforts were turned in by Bridget Beachy (13), Ruth Dobos (12), Lauren Uranker (12) and Renee Rawding (11). Michawn Rich led the Golden Tornadoes with ten rebounds to go along with five assists.

Geneva will remain out of conference next Tuesday when it hosts Myers University. Next weekend the Golden Tornadoes will begin a three-game road trip that includes Houghton, Roberts Wesleyan and Notre Dame. Geneva will close out the regular season on February 17th in what could be a battle for first place against Daemen College.

Geneva has now won 13 of its last 14 games with its only loss coming at the hands of first-place Daemen College. The 17 points allowed tonight was just one more than the Golden Tornadoes gave up against Penn State Beaver back in 1973, which still remains the lowest point total for a Geneva opponent.
