Geneva Drops Back to Back Matches Against AMC South Opponents

Beaver Falls, PA - Geneva′s tennis team opened its home schedule with back to back matches against two of the toughest teams in the American Mideast Conference South Division. On Friday, Geneva fell to Tiffin 9-0 and the Golden Tornadoes then dropped a 6-3 decision to Cedarville on Saturday. Because of inclement weather, Geneva was forced to take the action inside at Brady′s Run Park, but the change of venue didn′t seem to affect the guests.

Allison Krisza and Beth Sweatman both took their singles matches to three sets against Tiffin before falling in the third.

Against Cedarville, Krisza and Sweatman closed the deal with victories, while teammate Julia Buck also took home a straight set singles victory. Following the six singles matches, Geneva was tied with Cedarville, but the Yellowjackets proved to be too tough in doubles play with three single set victories, although each of Geneva′s double′s teams gave them all they could handle.

Geneva′s tennis team will travel to Clarion on Wednesday before making the trek to Shawnee State University next Saturday.
