Erinne Metler pitched six innings in game one to pick up the victory. Metler allowed four hits and struck out five for her first win of the season. Ashley Archer pitched a perfect seventh inning to get the save. Offensively, Mary Gaylor broke a 1-1 tie in the fourth inning with a solo homer, the first of her career. Geneva managed just three hits in the game, but scored the game's first run when Alicia Feathers scored in the first inning on a wild pitch.

Game two proved to be another pitcher's duel as Archer kept Urbana hitless in the first four innings, but the Golden Tornadoes were unable to take advantage of several scoring opportunities early in the game. Urbana finally managed a run in the bottom of the fifth to take a 1-0 lead. The Blue Knights took advantage of a Geneva error in the sixth inning to explode for seven runs and put the game out of reach. Geneva had eight hits in the loss including a pair from Kim Slater.

Geneva continues its southern swing with two more games on Tuesday. The Golden Tornadoes will play a total of 12 games in Ft. Myers before returning home next Tuesday for the northern portion of its schedule.
