fireworks1.jpgBeaver Falls,  PA – Celebrations take many forms, but to mark the nation′s independence, fireworks are traditionally at the top of the list. With the combined support of Geneva College, the City of Beaver Falls and the Big Beaver Falls School District, the patriotic tradition will continue with a free fireworks display for residents of Beaver Falls and the surrounding area. The display, produced by local fireworks manufacturer Zambelli Fireworks Internationale, will be held on Tues., July 3 at 9:30 p.m. behind the Beaver Falls Middle School.

City of Beaver Falls Mayor Karl Boak said, “Geneva College is providing the funding and The Big Beaver Falls School District is providing the location so that we can have this year′s fireworks display. It′s the cooperative partnership between the city, school district and Geneva which is making this free public event possible.”

Geneva College is donating the funds to the City of Beaver Falls for the fireworks. According to Geneva President Ken Smith, “We take our role as a member of the community seriously and believe that it′s a privilege to be able to provide a fireworks display as a gift to area residents. We hope that families and people of all ages will enjoy the show.”

In recent history Geneva College has hosted the Beaver Falls fireworks celebration at Reeves Field, but the venue had to be changed this year due to the Route 18 construction project, and accompanying traffic and parking constraints. According to Big Beaver Falls School District Superintendent Dr. Donna Nugent, “Fireworks are a wonderful tradition in Beaver Falls and across the country. Our athletic complex behind the middle school offers a large, open place to host the public display and we're pleased to participate.”
