Beaver Falls, Pa. – Due to illness, Dr. Michael J. Behe will be unable to speak at Geneva College this week as scheduled.  Behe, a nationally recognized biochemist and author, was going to present a two-part presentation on the argument for intelligent design as part of Geneva′s 2007-2008 Colloquia Series on Thursday, Sept. 6 and Friday, Sept. 7.

Describing the evolutionary process at the biological level as “irreducibly complex,” Behe authored two books and more than 40 technical papers refuting Charles Darwin′s theory of evolution. His books include Darwin′s Black Box: The Biochemical Challenge to Evolution (Free Press 1996) and The Edge of Evolution: The Search for the Limits of Darwinism (Free Press 2007).

Officials of Geneva College expect to reschedule Behe′s talk at a future date.

Geneva College, a reformed Christian liberal arts school founded in 1848, prepares students to serve Christ in all areas of society: work, family, and the church. Geneva is a founding member of the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU).
