WILSONEARNS NATIONAL HONORS
FOR PERFORMANCE AT THIEL

Beaver Falls, PA - Brian Wilson was forced to wait for over a year to get back onto the football field. When he was finally unleashed last Saturday at Thiel College, he made up for lost time. The 6′2, 205 lb, sophomore defensive end turned in a memorable performance in helping Geneva win its season opener against Thiel by the score of 20-3. For his efforts, Wilson was named the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) National Player of the Week.

After earning MSFA All-Conference honors in his freshman season of 2005, the defensive end from Atlanta, GA, sat out the entire 2006 season because of an academic snafu. Playing in his first game since his freshman season, Wilson led the Golden Tornadoes with ten total tackles, including seven tackles for loss. In addition, he had a team best three sacks, a fumble recovery and a batted down pass. Geneva′s defense held Thiel to just 150 total yards, including -25 yards rushing.

Wilson and his Geneva teammates will put their 1-0 record on the line this Saturday night against Washington & Jefferson, the defending Presidents′ Athletic Conference champs.
