WINLESS STREAK CONTINUES AT HIRAM TOURNAMENT
Beaver Falls, PA - Geneva′s volleyball team is still in search of its first victory of the young season. On Friday night, the Golden Tornadoes dropped a pair of matches at the Hiram College Tournament to fall to 0-6 on the season.
Geneva opened the night with a 3-0 loss to Hiram by the scores of 30-16, 30-26, 30-12. Adrian Blake and Blair Bruce were the lone bright spots with eight kills each, but it didn′t prove to be nearly enough for Geneva.
In match number two, Geneva again dropped a 3-0 decision. This time it came at the hands of MIT by scores of 30-22, 30-20, 30-21. Geneva again spread out its offense with Blake, Bruce and Michelle Zimmovan all contributing six kills a piece.
Faith Guerra and Brandi Snavely each had double figure digs in both losses and Snavely led the way in assists.
Geneva will take another shot at its first victory on Saturday with matches against St. Mary′s and Texas Lutheran at the Hiram College Tournament. Geneva will finally get to play on its home court on Monday night when it hosts Point Park University at 7 pm.
