LOSING STREAK HITS FOUR WITH ANOTHER

SECOND HALF SETBACK

Cleveland, OH - Geneva′s women′s soccer team dropped its fourth straight decision on Tuesday night in a 6-0 loss to Case Western. The loss dropped Geneva′s record to 2-7, but the overall record clearly doesn′t tell the whole story of the first half of Geneva′s season under new head coach Linda Sumner.

Tuesday marked the third loss in a row that Geneva saw a second half meltdown turn into the difference in the match. The previous two matches had opponents break a halftime tie with three second half goals. On Tuesday night, Geneva trailed 1-0 after 45 minutes and watched Case Western score five goals in the second half.

Case Western out shot Geneva 24-4 for the match, including a 15-3 advantage in the final 45 minutes. In the first half, Amber Weaver turned away three of the four shots on goal to keep the Golden Tornadoes in the game. Geneva managed just three shots on goal for the entire game and was unable to find the net for the second consecutive match.

Geneva will play its first match against a PAC opponent on Friday night when it travels to Washington & Jefferson. The Golden Tornadoes will return home next Monday night when they host local rival Westminster College.
