down_to_the_river_cd.jpgNew Song, Geneva′s traveling music and drama ensemble, has released a new CD titled Down to the River to Pray. The CD is now available for $15 through the Geneva College bookstore or Development Office.

The CD title, taken from one of the song tracks, reflects theme of prayer around which the songs are focused.  “The title of the new recording, Down to the River to Pray, is a reflection of a very important part of the life of New Song,” said Louise Copeland, director of New Song.  “Prayer is what supports New Song's ministry. We are so thankful for answers to prayer year after year-- for positive response from our audiences and spiritual blessing for them, for singers whose voices blend, for safety in travel, for personal growth, for positive interaction with people wherever we tour.”

The CD includes both a capella and accompanied psalms and songs of praise.

Members of New Song include Scott Metzger, senior – communication, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Stephanie Ishler, junior – music, DuBois, Pa.; Tyler Marwood, junior – business, Linesville, Pa.; Thomas Meyer, junior – music education, Girard, Pa.; Avery Mann, junior – elementary education, Shawnee, Kan.; Kassie Lorey, junior – music education, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Jordan Feagley, sophomore – music education, Huntingdon, Pa.; and Joshua Falk, sophomore – math education, Clarinda, Iowa.
