RIVALRY WEEK STARTS WITH A BANG,

ENDS WITH A FIZZLE

Grove City, PA -Rivalry week featured games against two teams that Geneva has faced more than any other opponent in the school′s history. After an impressive road victory against Westminster on Wednesday, Geneva could not complete the sweep as the Golden Tornadoes dropped a 67-60 decision at Grove City on Saturday afternoon. Seeking its first three game winning streak of the season, Geneva fell to 10-8 on the season while Grove City improved to 12-8 on the campaign.

Grove City opened an 18-12 lead in the first ten minutes of the game, but Geneva went on an impressive 11-0 run over the next four minutes and took a 23-18 lead capped off by a Zac Northen jump shot. The Wolverines regained their composure and out scored Geneva 14-4 the rest of the half and took a 32-27 advantage into the locker room.

Midway through half number two, Grove City had opened up a 12-point advantage and were able to extend that lead to as many as 19 points at 62-43 with just under five minutes to play. The Golden Tornadoes made a late charge and cut the lead to six points in the final minute, but were unable to finish the deal.

Greg McDivitt posted another double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Mike Ross and Zac Northen each scored 14 points. Other than that senior trio, Geneva got just 17 points from the rest of its roster.
