Edgar.jpgDr. William Edgar, a leading expert on apologetics, will be the speaker at Geneva College′s fourth annual J.G. Vos Memorial Lecture on Thursday, Jan. 31.

Edgar is professor of apologetics and coordinator of the apologetics department at Westminster Theological Seminary. He is also Professeur Associé at the Faculté Libre de Théologie Réformée in Aix-en-Provence, France; a senior fellow of The Trinity Forum; and a professional jazz pianist. He holds degrees from Harvard University (B.A.), Westminster (M.Div.) and the University of Geneva (Th.D.).

An ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in America, he is the author of several books, including The Face of Truth: Lifting the Veil; Reasons of the Heart: Recovering Christian Persuasion; and, most recently, Truth in All Its Glory: Commending the Reformed Faith. He joined the Westminster faculty in 1989.

Edgar will speak on “Kingdom Church Applied to the Congregation” at a noon luncheon for pastors and church leaders in Alexander Hall. There is no cost to attend, but reservations are required. Those who are interested in attending should contact Louise Copeland at 724.847.6661, by Jan. 21.

At 7 p.m. Edgar will give a public lecture on “The Church and the Kingdom: at the John H. White Chapel in Old Main. There is no admission fee.
