davidbaconandjenkiefer2.jpgAs part of the annual Family Weekend at Geneva College, students and faculty will present a talent show in John White Chapel of Old Main on February 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m.  From a performance on the hammered dulcimer to a solo from Sweeney Todd, the talent show will offer an array of entertaining selections from some of Geneva′s most talented performers.

The Family Weekend is meant to provide a connection between Geneva students and their families and friends, and includes several event opportunities for students, families, and the public to enjoy together. The talent show serves as a fundraiser for the Geneva Women, an alumni group that financially supports projects and needs on campus.

The show will spotlight the acting and musical talent of several Geneva students and faculty members. Some faculty acts include Dr. Byron Curtis, associate professor of Bible, on the hammered dulcimer; and Sha Wang, assistant professor of piano and music theory, performing a Debussy piano piece. Several students will also perform acting and music pieces, including Scott Metzger, senior communications major, performing a Shakespeare monologue; Joey Bucci, junior student ministries major, performing an original guitar piece; and Emma Cowell, junior vocal performance major, performing a solo from Sweeney Todd; and many more.

The event is open to the public, and tickets are required. Tickets bought in advance cost $6 for adults and $3 for students. Tickets bought at the door are $7 for adults and $4 for students. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact the Music Department at 724-847-6660 or the Public Relations Office at 724-847-6521.
