DAY TWO AT NCCAA NATIONALS BRINGS
BETTER RESULTS FOR
GENEVA

Oakland City, IN - One day after dropping a 10-point decision to top seeded Indiana Wesleyan in the first round of the NCCAA national tournament, Geneva turned its fortunes around with an 87-83 victory over Asbury College in a consolation round match-up. The Golden Tornadoes improved to 14-13 for the season and will face off against the winner of Oakland City and Trinity Christian in the fifth place game on Thursday to close out the season.

Geneva trailed 43-42 going into the halftime locker room, but used the inside-outside game of Bryan Hill and Greg McDivitt to out score Asbury 45-40 in the final 20 minutes. Hill knocked down six three-point field goals on 13 attempts and finished with a game high 21 points. Meanwhile, senior Greg McDivitt contributed 18 points and four rebounds. Zac Northen played a big role in the victory with 14 points and seven rebounds, while freshman Brandon Sopko came off the bench for 11 points and eight boards.

Asbury fell to 17-15 on the season after dropping its second game in as many days. It will play in the seventh place game on Thursday. The Golden Tornadoes will close out the season at 4 pm EST on Thursday with an opportunity to leave Indiana with a 2-1 mark on the national stage.
