WOMEN TAKE FIRST, MEN THIRD
AT
GENEVACOLLEGEPAC QUAD MEET

Beaver Falls, PA - In what turned out to be a perfect afternoon and evening for a track and field meet, Geneva′s team turned in solid performances and took first place in women′s action and finished third on the men′s side. Competing against PAC opponents Bethany, Waynesburg and Washington & Jefferson, Geneva′s team faired quite well across the board.

Geneva′s women finished the day with 173 points, which ended up being 26 points better than second place Bethany′s total of 147. In men′s action, Geneva picked up 64 points, while Bethany took first place tallying 159 points.

In men′s action, Luke Duriancik took first place in the pole vault event with a winning jump of ten feet even. Other highlights for the men included Dan Dillman′s third place finish in the discus at 122.11 and sixth place finish in the shot put at 40.09. On the track, Josh Falk took second place in the 3000 meter event, while Geneva′s 4 x 100 relay team took home the first place prize. Phil Falk had a solid showing in the 1500 meter event with a first place finish and a time of 4:25.37. Falk also placed third in the 800 meter race with a finishing time of 2:06.36.

On the women′s side, a pair of second place performances were turned in by Jamie Williams in the long jump and Kelsey Anderson in the pole vault. Anderson did herself one place better in the 100 meter high hurdles with a first place finish in a time of 16.59. Rebecca VanRegenmorter and Susan Fletcher finished one and two in the 1500 meter race, while teammate Lisa Lyon crossed the finish line in fifth position. Fletcher and VanRegenmorter went back to work in the 800 meter event with the same results. VanRegenmorter won the second heat in a time of 2:28.47, while Fletcher won heat number one at 2:29.34. Geneva′s Sarah Davis won the 5000 meter event and Geneva′s 4 x 400 relay team of VanRegenmorter, Fletcher, Nicole Okerlund and Laura Seyler took first place in a convincing time of 4:29.52.

Geneva′s track and field team will be back to work on Saturday when they travel to Robert Morris University for a 9:00 am start.
