Beginning this weekend, Geneva College Theatre will present two short plays to finish off this year′s theatre season. The performances run from Thursday, April 17 through Saturday, April 19 and Thursday, April 24 through Saturday, April 27. Evening curtain calls are at 8:00 p.m. and Saturday matinees at 2:00 p.m. The two plays, directed by Mindy Wagner, are Eleemosynary written by Lee Blessing and Braids by Joseph Frost.

The overarching theme of the two plays is the uniqueness of women in identity and relationship. Eleemosynary, which means charity, relates a tale about three women, a mother, her daughter, and her grandmother, and their relationship. Braids faces the issues of identity, womanhood, and abandonment.

The cast for Braids includes returning Geneva performers Caitlin Zeiset and Julie Lohman along with freshmen Sarah Henderson and Keturah Kneuss. Seniors Lindsay Bochek and Amy Williams star in Eleemosynary with Brenna Garda, a freshman. They are all very excited to be performing.

Tickets are on sale now for reserved seating by calling the Geneva Box Office at 724-847-5099. They can also be bought at the door of the Bagpiper Theatre before the showings.
