Kerry LandisBEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- The Beaver Valley Business and Professional Women Group (BPW) will recognize Geneva College outstanding senior student and Richland, Pennsylvania native Kerri Landes at the upcoming Beaver County Women of the Year Awards on April 29.

Landes was nominated by faculty and staff of the college, and chosen by a selection committee from eight finalists to be the Geneva representative. She was selected as a female senior who, in the 160-year tradition of Geneva College, exemplifies what it means to be a servant-leader by impacting the world around her for the kingdom of Christ.

She is a graduate of the Eastern Lebanon County School District. As Landes finishes her senior year at Geneva college, she is not only heavily involved in campus leadership positions, but is also a double major in political science and human services.

At Geneva, she has been a resident assistant, president of Geneva′s chapter of the International Justice Mission and an officer in the Acting on AIDS club. She was also central in organizing a successful social justice-focused, week-long program on campus, and spent the past two spring breaks helping with hurricane relief projects in New Orleans.

Upon graduation, Kerri will pursue a master′s degree at the University of Pittsburgh′s School of Social Work.

Geneva College is a comprehensive Christian college of the arts, sciences and professional studies. Founded in the tradition of the Reformed Christian faith, Geneva prepares students to serve Christ in all areas of society: work, family and the church. Geneva is a founding member of the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU).
