Commencement in Metheny Fieldhouse

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – Geneva College is pleased to announce the commencement festivities for its 2008 graduating class, with 539 graduates receiving undergraduate and graduate degrees. The ceremonies will take place from Thursday, May 15 through Saturday, May 17.

The college will begin its celebration on Thursday, May 15 at 7:30 p.m. with a commencement ceremony for the Graduate and Adult Education programs. Commencement will be held in the Metheny Fieldhouse on Geneva′s campus. The speaker will be Dr. Cynthia Wells, fellow and assistant professor of interdisciplinary studies at Messiah College.

On Friday, a baccalaureate service will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Metheny Fieldhouse. Dr. Dean Smith, Geneva College′s professor and chair of the biblical studies department, will preach at the baccalaureate.

Saturday, May 17 will see the undergraduate students officially completing their college education. At 10 a.m., the commencement ceremony will take place on Geneva′s campus in the Metheny Fieldhouse. Geneva′s Dr. Frederick Neikirk, professor of political science and chair of the Department of History, Political Science, and Sociology, will address the students.
