BEAVER FALLS, Pa. - Recipients of the 14th annual Henry Mancini Musical Theatre Awards, known as the Henries, were announced Wednesday night, May 21 at a gala ceremony in Metheny Fieldhouse on the campus of Geneva College in Beaver Falls.
Awards were presented to:
Outstanding Male in a Leading Role
-Josh Smith as Pippin, in Pippin, Seneca Valley High School.
-James Williams as Tevye, in Fiddler on the Roof, Beaver Area High School.
-George Milosh as the Beast, in Beauty and the Beast, Center High School.
Outstanding Female in a Leading Role
-Veronica Garza as Princess Winnifred, in Once Upon a Mattress, Hopewell Area High School.
-Sara Deppenbrook as The Cat in the Hat, in Seussical the Musical, Big Beaver Falls Area School District.
-Bethany Lukes as Millie Dillmount, in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Riverside High School.

A number of local and regional celebrities participated in the celebration. Master of Ceremonies was Ian Rosenberger, TV personality and a former Henry winner. Singers B.E. Taylor and Stephanie Fraschetti (WORD-FM) sang two of Mancini′s greatest hits. The Henries were presented by Kate Luce Angell (Pittsburgh Post Gazette), Jim Cunningham (WQED Multimedia), Ken Gargaro (Pittsburgh Musical Theatre), artist/musician Elizabeth Asche Douglas, and actor/director Harvey Johnson. The
Henries for Outstanding Overall Production were presented by Christopher Mancini, son of the late Henry Mancini.
Twelve schools from Beaver, Butler, and Lawrence counties participated in the Mancini program this year.
