PERFECT 10 - GENEVAPUTS ON OFFENSIVE
FIREWORKS IN VICTORY OVER MT. ALOYSIUS

Beaver Falls, PA - The goals came early and often for the Geneva College men′s soccer team on Monday night. After starting the season 3-1, including four one-goal games, the Golden Tornadoes were able to put the game on cruise control for most of the night in a 10-0 victory over Mt. Aloysius College. Geneva won for the fourth consecutive game and moved to 4-1 on the season with an impressive offensive display.

Chris Morshl opened the scoring when he headed in a corner kick from Zach Buffalini in the sixth minute. Geneva ended up with six goals in the first half, including a pair off of the foot of Coert Voorhees. Voorhees was joined by teammate Kenton Burckhart with a pair of goals. The offensive star of the game went to freshman Paul Liotta who registered his first three collegiate goals with a hat trick on Monday night.

Geneva goalkeeper Jeremy Musser turned aside the only shot of the night that he faced early in the first half. Musser becomes the third Geneva goalkeeper this season to register a shut-out. It is the first time in school history that three different goalkeepers have a shut-out in the same season.

Geneva out shot Mt. Aloysius by an incredible margin of 47-1, including 35 shots on goal. Muskies goalkeeper Harrison Anderson did all he could with 25 saves, but his teammates were simply over matched for most of the night.

Geneva will enjoy a full week off before hosting LaRoche College at Merriman Athletic Complex on September 15th.
