STREAK HITS SIX, GENEVA ROLLS PAST FRANCISCAN 3-0

Steubenville, OH - In a game Geneva men′s head coach Todd Beall called one of his teams most complete matches of the season, the Golden Tornadoes controlled the tempo and possessed their way to a convincing 3-0 victory over Franciscan University. In the process, Geneva improved its overall record to 6-1, including victories in six consecutive matches.

Junior goalkeeper David Callahan took care of another opponent while picking up his third victory and second shut-out of the season. Geneva′s offense took a while to get going but it was Bruce Fox that got the Golden Tornadoes on the board. Midway through the first half, Fox took a loose ball in the box and found the back of the net for his third goal of the season. Fox got his second goal of the night and fourth of the season in the 68th minute. Zachary Buffalini has been on the verge of netting his first collegiate goals on several occasions in recent weeks, but on Wednesday the freshman picked up that goal to give Geneva a 3-0 cushion with less than 15 minutes remaining in the match.

"This was a nice win for us," said head coach Todd Beall. "We played solidly from start to finish and controlled the game from start to finish against a very good opponent."

The Golden Tornadoes will look for their seventh straight victory next Tuesday when they host Pitt-Greensburg at Merriman Complex beginning at 7 pm.
