ALLGOOD THINGS COME TO AN END, WIN

STREAK STOPPED AT 11 BY THOMAS MORE

Crestview Hills, KY - Streaks are made to be broken and all good things must come to an end. Unfortunately for the Geneva women′s volleyball team, it had to drive five hours to Kentucky to see its 11-game winning streak snapped by Thomas More. The Golden Tornadoes dropped a 3-1 decision (25-20, 22-25, 15-25, 16-25) and fell to 13-4 for the season. Geneva, which had not allowed an opponent to even take a game in six straight matches, dropped the final three games on Wednesday night to the team many think should be the favorite in the Presidents′ Athletic Conference.

Adriane Blake led the offense with 15 kills and she added 13 digs for good measure on the defensive end of the court. Teammates Rachel Kuegler and Michelle Zimmovan each added seven kills in the loss. Brandi Snavely, who entered the week leading the PAC in assists, came up with just 28 helpers in the four-game match.

Geneva had been perfect against PAC opponents heading into Wednesday night′s match, but the Saints proved to be too much for the Golden Tornadoes to handle on this night.

Geneva will enjoy the rest of the weekend off before getting back into action next Wednesday at Grove City. The Golden Tornadoes will return to Metheny Fieldhouse on October 14th when they host Bethany College.
